Staff at a St Leonards-on-Sea call centre will be volunteering their time to take donation calls on Red Nose Day.
The 75 staff at Distribution Verification Services, of 22 Theaklen Drive, St. Leonards on Sea will be manning their phones after hours on March 15 when a Night of TV Gold on BBC 1 will urge viewers to give to Comic Relief.
Distribution Verification Services provides checking and canvassing services for major media organisations, while its associated company, The Reception Bureau, acts as an out-of-office call service for scores of small businesses throughout the country. The HR Bureau also provides a personnel service for local businesses.
DVS Chairman Barry Cuff said: “Comic Relief was looking for call centres to help deal with the millions of responses and our staff were quick to volunteer their services. We also appreciate the help from volunteers from Hastings Job Centre, Bausch and Lomb, Laton Technical and Hastings Chamber of Commerce.
“As well as taking calls from people giving money in response to the Night of TV Comedy Gold they will be getting active and fundraising themselves with various fun activities.”
It's 25 years since Red Nose day launched and its success has meant that each year the demand for handling donations has risen and we at DVS are pleased to be involved in this worthwhile activity.
